Local youths participate in state fair, VCC Expo

Quay County 4-Hers place at New Mexico State Fair with educational exhibits

Junior Katelind Hittson won third place for her leather coin purse

Junior Taylor Hayes won first place for her advance braided belt and a 2nd on her angel food cake

Novice Regan Runyan won third place for her silhouette photo, third place for her embellished jacket, and a first place for her “Quick Meals Menu for a Day.”

Novice Taylor Parmer won first place for her sewing tool kit.

Novice Trestin Peterson won second place for his set of two shadow portraits, second for his skill level 2 model rocket, first place for his completed outdoor cooking work book and a first place for his outdoor cooking meal plan.

Senior Jordan Runyan won first place for her five favorite photos, second place for her color photo converted to black and white and second place for her photo documenting a 4-H event.

Senior Randall Rush first place for his skill level 1 model rocket.

We had two youths participate in the State Fair Dog Show.

Taylor Hayes won first place in junior showmanship and won the showmanship award.

Kaleb won second place in the novice agility and sixth place in novice obedience.

Kaleb and Taylor also participated in the Valencia County Community Expo Dog Show and Kaleb won high point novice individual and Taylor won high point junior individual.
