Mark Armenta becomes Eagle Scout

Mark Armenta, right, of Troop 88 in Parker, Colo., grandson of Tony and Ida Macias of Tucumcari, earned the highest rank in Boy Scouts of Eagle on Dec. 30, 2010. Presenting his Eagle Patch is Joe Skalisky, Scoutmaster of Troop 88. Mark’s Eagle project consisted of coordinating and supervising a drive for the Denver area Dumb Friends League/Buddy Center and collecting more than $3,500 worth of product and $485 to aid in care of the animals. The donation drive was the biggest the Dumb Friends League/Buddy Center has had in the last five years. Mark Armenta had the help of his family, Louis, Naomi, and Victoria Armenta, the Parker community and fellow Boy Scouts of Troop 88.
