House FFA students use their brains at competition

Blake Moon

On Feb. 11, the House FFA left for an exciting trip to the Noodle Making Lunch Club. The NMLC is a thrilling get together in which everyone is taught the basics in noodle making. OK, it wasn’t really the Noodle Making Lunch Club. The NMLC actually stands for New Mexico Leadership Conference, and I think it’s safe to say that everyone had a good time there. Our trip started when we left bright and early with a small group of kids.

We took the three hour trip to Albuquerque where several of our House kids competed, including Summer Huizar in the Prepared Speaking Contest, Trenton Lee and Koby Valentine in the FFA Creed Contest, and Wyatt Bishop in Illustrated Talk. Summer placed ninth, a respectable place considering there were seventeen contestants and the actual contest is very challenging. The other kids who came, such as myself, Kayleigh Fury and Sid Truelock, went to the workshops run by the State FFA Officer team. The workshops were all very educational and interesting and I hope to return next year. Congrats to all of our House competitors for a job well done at State Contest!
