State police are still seeking the community’s help in locating a sixth suspect in connection with the slaying of 33-year-old Shirley Pacheco, said Sgt. Tim Johnson.

Johnson said state police identified Dennis Joseph Hendren, 36, of Tucumcari as a suspect involved in Pacheco’s homicide.

“Hendren has active warrants out for his arrest for tampering with evidence, conspiracy to tamper with evidence and littering,” Johnson said. “Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr. Hendren should contact State Police.”

State police arrested a fifth suspect Henry Martinez, 19, of Tucumcari, on July 26, at his place of employment in Tucumcari.

Johnson said the arrest of Martinez and active search for Hendren are the result of the investigation into the July 9 homicide.

“We believe Hendren is still in the Tucumcari area,” Johnson said.

Hendren is described as 5-feet-8 inches, 180 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

Anyone with information about him is asked to call the New Mexico State Police office in Tucumcari at (575) 461-3300.
