Fair draws more than 600 residents

The support of the community and efforts of volunteers helped make the Quay County Wellness Fair a success, said event coordinators.

Alida Brown, fair coordinator, said more than 600 residents attended Saturday's Quay County Wellness Fair.

Brown said there were 80 exhibitors at this years fair with 30 different health screenings available to the public.

"These screenings are done for free to the public," Brown said. "These screenings are so beneficial to the community."

Brown said she'd like to thank all the local support, for their donations and time worked at the fair

Brown said the actual set up the fair was done by volunteers, and the exhibitors.

The event is held every two years, Quay County Health Council member Bonnie Smith Osborn. She said that off time is spent lining up the different exhibitors and displays and coordinating the entire event.

"I've been a part of the council for seven years," Osborn said. "This fair is the most anticipated event held by the council."

Osborn said she felt the event was a success, the residents of the county were able to take advantage of all of the services offered at the fair.

"It was a lot of work," Osborn said. "I helped to set up, as well as manning a booth for MECA Therapy."
