Jeffrey Cordova, 17, said he joined the youth conservation corps to help the community.

Jeffrey said his favorite project since joining was being able to work on the dug-outs at the baseball fields. "Helping the town grow and seeing more tourist stop at the beautification sites is what is most important to our community," he said.

He said that more youths outide of the YCC should get involved in projects to help improve the town.

He is is looking forward to many more projects to come for the YCC and is hoping that the city parks is one of the next ones to do.

Yvette Fazekas, program coordinator, said this program has been going since the early 1990s and has been a great program for the young people in the community to get involved in. This year there are seven boys currently enrolled in YCC.
