The Quay County Commission on Monday approved continuing a special gross receipts tax that benefits Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital.
The measure does not raise new tax revenues, commissioners said. It just keeps an existing tax in place.
Hospital Administrator Lance Labine appeared before the commission with Craig Cosner, chairman of the hospital’s board, to advocate for continuing the tax.
The tax is imposed on businesses and is equal to one-eighth of 1 percent of their gross receipts. The continuation goes into effect on Jan. 1.
