The manager of Love’s Travel Stop in Tucumari, Dewayne Juarez has vowed to double donations his store contributes to the Children’s Miracle Network, the charity that Love’s has adopted for its fundraising efforts.
In fact, if his team succeeds, he has vowed to kiss a pig.

And if donations triple, he said, he will wear a dress for an entire workday in front of everybody — visitors and locals — who pass through.
He’s doing many things this year to ensure he gets to plant a wet one on a hog, he said.
Fundraising activities include a golf tournament on Aug. 24 at the 12 Shores at Ute Lake Golf Course, in which four-member teams will pay $200 each to compete for prizes and enjoy a meal after the tourney. Love’s will also host a softball tournament on Sept. 7, and may host other activities from Aug. 19 to Sept. 23.
In addition, Love’s wil host bake sales and burrito sales throughout the campaign and sell Children’s Miracle Network paper hearts, ranging in price from $1 to $20 from Aug. 19 to Sept. 24.
“I know with the help of our local community, we can make this happen,” Juarez said about reaching his goal.
