County approves capital ‘wish list’

The Quay County Commission on Monday approved its “wish list” of infrastructure capital improvement projects it seeks to fund through future legislative capital outlays from 2015 to 2019. The commission submits a similar list to the legislature annually, commissioners said.

The total being sought for all four years is more than $13.3 million, according to the Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan document the commissioners approved.

Here is the county’s list for 2015:

• Roof repairs, Quay County Detention Center, $440,000

• Dump truck equipment, $340,000

• Restoration of courthouse windows, $318,500

• Renovations to courtroom and judicial offices, $150,000

• Quay Road 63 improvements, $550,000 added to $80,000 already funded

• Roller equipment for roads, $190,000

• Renovations to DanC. Rigg Memorial Hospital, $2.8 million.

For 2016:

• Dozer equipment, $750,000

• Skid steer with attachments, $85,000

• County road vehicles, $195,000

• Pneumatic Roller, $170,000

• Rodeo/Fairgrounds, $100,000

For 2017:

• Office equipment, $50,000

• County vehicles, $150,000

• Transport van, detention center, $30,000

• Detention center equipment, $175,000

• Detention center isolation cell improvements, $250,000

For 2018:

• Handicap accessibility and courthouse steps, $50,000

• Ute Lake Ranch Road, $1.5 million

• Acceleration and deceleration lanes on roads, $750,000

• Judicial building for district attorney’s office, $1.3 million.
