Love’s Travel Stop’s general manager has delivered on his promise by puckering up for a good cause. Dewayne Juarez kept his promise to kiss a pig on Saturday after his team in Tucumcari raised more than $5,200 for Children’s Miracle Network, according to a press statement.

That goal doubled the proceeds from last year. “I think the pig was more scared of the kiss than I was,” Juarez said of the recipient, a three-week-old sow.

Love’s CMN campaign ends Sept. 23. Love’s employees will continue to sell paper hearts and conduct bake sales and more, the press statement said. If Juarez’s team reaches its next goal of tripling last year’s efforts, he has promised to wear a dress for an entire workday.
