Extension association sponsoring ‘care bag’

The Extension Association of Quay County is sponsoring a “Care Bag” project to provide comfort items to those going through chemotherapy and kidney dialysis treatments in our region.

The treatments take many hours and are often several times a week. The items in the bags are designed to make the treatment more comfortable. Things that go in the bags include gloves and hats, socks, game books, lotion, lip balm, hard candy, note pads, pens and pencils and much more.

Help is needed to stuff bags on from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Quay County Fair Barn.

Still needed are small bottles of lotion and pairs of gloves. The goal this year is 150 bags. The bags will be delivered to Albuquerque and Clovis Centers. There will be special bags made for children too.

For information call Brenda Bishop at 461-0562.
