A ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday marked the grand re-opening of Tucumcari’s Casa Verde flower and garden shop after a four-year absence.

Gary and Nancy Jaynes opened the store they left behind four years ago after finding that “retired life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be,” said Nancy Jaynes.

Before retiring in 2009, the Jaynes operated Casa Verde for 33 ears. The store included two greenhouses and sold cut flowers, live plants and garden supplies, including soil amendments chosen to match the needs of Quay County gardeners, and weed and bug killers.

The newly launched store will continue selling plants, flowers, bulbs and garden supplies along with an expanded their product line.

Casa Verde is at 724 E. Main St.
