The (1-3) Tucumcari Rattlers are on the road again this week as they travel to Eunice to play the (2-3) Cardinals.
We don’t know a lot about the Cardinals other than what we have seen on film, said Wayne Ferguson, Rattlers head coach.
Ferguson said the Cardinals are multiple facet team, and the Rattlers will have to be ready to make adjustments as they are needed.
The Rattlers are looking to bounce back from Friday’s 21-6 loss to the Foxes at Fort Sumner.
The Rattlers defense kept the Foxes out of the end zone for the second half of the game. Though the Rattlers were trailing 21-6 and the length of the Foxes offensive possessions and they were playing in a state of urgency.
Twice in the second half the Rattlers failed to convert on fourth down and turned the ball back over to the Foxes.
The Rattlers were trying to add to their lone score a 1-yard touchdown rush by Saul Moriel (2 point conversion no good) in an effort to close the gap and put the game back into reach.
Scoreless in the first quarter the (1-3) Rattlers were driving trying to answer back to a 39-yard touchdown pass from Foxes quarterback Garret Hisel to wide receiver Nick Sanchez.
Though a fumble recovered by the (3-1) Foxes resulted in a 45-yard touchdown run by Michael Giannini increasing their lead by two score over the Rattlers.
