Roads mostly clear but caution advised due to icy spots; windy, warmer today but colder Monday

Road and weather update, 6 a.m. Sunday

The New Mexico Dept. of Transportation lists the following conditions for Quay County roads:

I-40 from Clines Corners to Texas state line: Difficult. Roadway is clear. Crews are out plowing, salting and cindering.

NM 104 from Las Vegas to Tucumcari: Fair. Roadway is clear with some icy spots. Crews have plowed, salted and cindered.

NM 469 from San Jon to Grady: Fair. Roadway is clear. Crews have plowed, salted and cindered.

On all these roads, please drive with caution as there may be icy spots from blowing snow on the road, reduce speed and obey all posted traffic signs.

The National Weather Service predicts winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 mph today. Highs in the low to mid 40s. Partly cloudy skies .

Tonight, partly cloudy. Lows 10 to 20. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph in the evening.

Monday, colder and mostly cloudy with a chance of snow. Highs in the mid to upper 20s. Monday night, low of 5 to 15.
Some warming expected Tuesday.
