Light snow may slicken roads today as temperatures plunge

Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service, 8 a.m. Monday:

Light snow accumulation is expected today in Quay County and surrounding areas. Even with light snowfall, roads frozen by the ongoing cold spell could quickly become slick in spots.
Snow is expected to taper off by early- to mid-afternoon, leaving very cold temperatures and some slick roads in its wake.
Northwest wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour are expected this afternoon.
Tonight, a low of around 11 is expected under clear skies, along with west winds from 5 to 10 mph.
