The Tucumcari Public Library is making computers available to persons who need to register for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, according to Dainetta Kroeker, library director.
The library will suspend its limit of one hour per computer user if a visitor is using the computer to sign up for health insurance, Kroeker said.
Persons who do not have computer skills are urged to bring someone with them who is familiar with computers, however, Kroeker said, since library staff time to assist them is limited.
Persons who sign up by Dec. 23 may be enrolled by Jan. 1, according to the healthcare.gov website, which is the official federal site for registering under the act.
To learn and register for the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange, potential clients may visit www.bewellnm.com.
A few people have already used the service, Kroeker said.
