Nominations for Pioneer of the Year are being accepted by the Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce.
Nominees must have lived in the county at least 50 years and be at least 75 years old.
Nomination deadline is 5 p.m. on May 30.
The winner will be honored during Heritage Days in June.

Roosevelt County Emergency Preparedness coordinator Keith Wattenbarger says new emergency warning sirens should be activated in the coming weeks.
He said Roosevelt County Electric Cooperative is assisting in installing the new sirens.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation reports it will be installing four-way stop signs at the intersection of N.M. 88 (East Third) and Kilgore in downtown Portales.
Installation will be complete Monday, NMDOT says.
