Peterson stands fifth, Hartman ninth in Sun Country event

ALBUQUERQUE — Ethan Peterson of Clovis stands in fifth place after the first round of the Sun Country PGA Tour Championship at Four Hills Country Club.
Peterson’s 5-over 77 puts him four strokes behind Hobbs’ Kenneth Fadke and Santa Fe High’s Marty Sanchez, both at a 1-over 73 in the boys 15-16 division.
Portales’ Paige Hartman is ninth after Monday’s first round with a 23-over 95. Belen’s Taylar Jaramillo holds a one-stroke lead with an 11-over 83.
Today’s final round tees off at 7:30 a.m.
