Boys

• Fort Sumner bounced back from its first District 3-1A loss, routing Dora 68-41 in a makeup game on Monday night at Fort Sumner.

Sophomore forward Kolter West scored 15 points and senior guard Cameron Simmons added 11 for the Foxes (14-9, 5-1 district), who lost at Floyd 27-25 on Friday night. Fort Sumner put the game out of reach by outscoring the Coyotes 20-2 in the third quarter, turning a 13-point lead into a 31-point blowout.

Sophomore Colton Gruis led the Coyotes (9-13, 1-5) with 15 points, while freshman Dylan Privett added 13.

Girls

• Junior post Kelli Merrick led a balanced attack with 11 points, and the District 3-1A-leading Dora Lady Coyotes turned back Fort Sumner 38-27 on Monday at Fort Sumner.

Dora (19-4, 6-0) struggled to get its offense going, but the Lady Coyotes held Fort Sumner (11-10, 1-5) in check for most of the contest.

Junior guard Sarah Stinnett provided most of the offense for the Vixens with 15 points. Fort Sumner cut an 11-point deficit in the third quarter to 27-25 with 6:45 left on two free throws and a 3-pointers by Stinnett, but Dora scored the next eight points to pull away.
