Esther Stoner Whaley

Services: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday there will be vistation at the French Mortuary Chapel, Wyoming Blvd., Albuquerque. At 1 p.m. on Sunday, a graveside service with viewing will be at the Nara Visa Cemetery, Nara Visa, N.M.

Esther Stoner Whaley, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007.

She was born on July 24, 1919 in Nara Visa, N.M., and graduated from Nara Visa High School. After moving to Albuquerque, she worked for Furr's Cafeteria for 22 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Whaley is survived by her son, Larry (Joyce) Whaley of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Karl Whaley, Kristi (Sean) Martinez and Kevin Whaley, all of Albuquerque; two great-grandchildren, Zevin and Jacob Martinez; brother, Ronald Stoner and wife, Bonnie, of San Jon, N.M.; nieces and nephews, Ronnie, Rodney and Rhonda Stoner, and Art, Chuck and Bona Jean Walker; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oran and Mable Stoner; brothers, Buddy Stoner, Oran Stoner, Richard Stoner and Marshall Stoner; and one sister, Inita Walker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2625 Pennsylvania NE, Suite 225, 87110.

Arrangements are by French Mortuary of Albuquerque.
