Tractor Supply store opening in Clovis
Comments 0Tractor Supply Co. has plans to build a store on North Prince Street just north of Clovis city limits, according to Clovis Building Safety Director Pete Wilt.
A spokeswoman for the company was uncertain when construction will begin or when the retail farm and ranch store will open.
“We are still in the initial stages,” said Tractor Supply spokeswoman Ashley Charlton. “We hope to be there soon.”
Wilt said the city has approved preliminary plans for the 19,000-square-foot store at 4620 N. Prince St. He said he expects to receive the company’s building permit application and formal engineering and architectural stamped set of plans soon.
The plans show a one-story block building.
Founded in 1938 as a mail order catalog business offering tractor parts to America’s farmers, Tractor Supply has annual revenues of more than $2 billion, according to its Web site. The company is based in Brentwood, Tenn.
Tractor Supply stores are typically located in rural areas and outlying suburbs of major cities, according to its Web site. The company has about 700 retail stores in 37 states and one Canadian province, the site reads.
