High five with Spiderman...

Garrett Bollinger is celebrating his fifth birthday today with family and friends at a Spiderman party. Garrett was born on Feb. 28, 2003 and is the son or Justin and Kerri Bollinger of Tucumcari. He has one brother, Greyson. His grandparents are Mona Rutter of Logan, and Darrel and Brenda Bollinger of Clovis. His great-grandparents are Johnnie and Velma Bollinger of Clovis, and Joyce Brown of Levelland, Texas.

First birthday...

Caylee Danae Benavidez will celebrate her first birthday on March 7. Caylee is the daughter of Patrick and Dana Benavidez of Portales. Her grandparents are Pablo and Christine Benavidez and Ben and Ellen White, all of Tucumcari. Nino and Nina, and Matt and Tina Garcia, along with other friends and relatives, will help Caylee celebrate with a party on March 8.

Peyton has arrived...

Joseph Hurley and Sandee Carmichael of Tucumcari are the proud parents of Peyton Elizabeth Hurley born on Feb. 22, 2008 at Plains Regional Hospital in Clovis. Peyton Elizabeth weighed 5 pounds and 4.3 ounces. She has one sister, Lexee Jimenez who is 4 years old. Her grandparents are Susan and Bobby Hurley, and Shirley and Antonio Gomez, all of Tucumcari. Her great-grandmother is Lavern Yarbrough of Tucumcari.

Joined in matrimony...

Rebekah Joy Hodge of Tucumcari and James Warren Carnes of Portales were joined in marriage July 7 at the Inn at Paradise at Albuquerque. The Rev. Joseph E. Jernigan performed the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mark and Andrea Hodge of Tucumcari. She is the granddaughter of George and Bobbie Hoover of Oberlin, Ohio and Jerry and Betty Hodge of Saltville, Virginia.

The bridegroom is the son of Linda West of Portales. He is the grandson of Warren and Janie Funk of Portales.

The couple will reside in Portales, both students of Eastern New Mexico University. The groom is employed at Wal-Mart.

The maid of honor was Rochelle E. Hodge, the matron was Christina Maestas, the bridesmaid was Whitney Waller, bestman was Andy Anderson, the groomsmen were Joe Maestas and Matthew Hodge, the usher was Matt Hittson and the flowergirl was Angelina Maestas.
