The Logan Longhorns evened up their football  season Friday with a loss to the Carrizozo Grizzlies.  Final score, 56-42. “Our guys played tough,” Kene Terry, Logan’s football coach, said, “but we made some mistakes.” Carrizozo, he said, fielded a “good team.” The Longhorns are now 1-1.  Last week they defeated the Tatum Coyotes 48-7.   […]

San Jon/Grady Coyotes 18; Hondo Eagles 58

The San Jon/Grady Coyotes lost their second consecutive game Friday to the Hondo Eagles.  The score, 58-18. San Jon/Grady coach Bobby Gomez said the Coyotes came back after a scoreless first half  to put 18 points in their column.  The Eagles scored 36 points in the first half and 22 in the second, Gomez said.
