Quay County – State Police arrested Gilbert Moreno (27), Jason Decarlo

(23) and Samantha Farmer (30) this afternoon after a vehicle pursuit.

Moreno and Decarlo fled from NMSP in a vehicle that had been stolen out of

Albuquerque the day before.

 

State police officers had received information about two suspects driving

a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt that had just shoplifted from a Circle K in

Tucumcari, New Mexico. A short time later, officers with NMSP and Motor

Transportation Police Department located the vehicle traveling eastbound

on I-40, east of Tucumcari. As officers engaged their emergency equipment

the suspects fled at a high rate of speed. The pursuit reached speeds of

over 140 miles per hour.

 

Approximately 30 miles east of Tucumcari the suspect’s vehicle ran out of

gas, at which time they were arrested without further incident. A short

time later Ms. Farmer arrived on scene in a Chevrolet sports utility

vehicle. Farmer indicates that she is traveling with the Moreno and

Decarlo. Inside her vehicle police find a misdemeanor amount of Marijuana.

 

Moreno and Decarlo are charged with Receiving/Transferring a Stolen

Vehicle, Aggravated Fleeing, Conspiracy and Shoplifting. Farmer is

charged with Conspiracy and Possession of a Controlled Substance. All

three will be booked into the Quay County Adult Detention Center.
