Gabriel Anaya and Desaray Urioste of Tucumcari are the parents of a 6-pound 14-ounce baby girl born July 21, 2011, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

Maaja Dawn Anaya has two brothers, Daymion Urioste and Eric Acosta. Grandparents are Carolyn and Gilbert Anaya and Steve and Dawn Urioste.

Steven Roybal and Denise Hendren of Tucumcari announce the birth of their first born baby girl Semonita Flor Roybal.

She was born on Aug. 4, 2011, in Clovis. She weighed 7-pounds, 2.3-ounces. Her grandparents are Dennis and Ruby Hendren and Nacho and Michelle Olivas of Tucumcari and Danny and Lupe Roybal of Dallas. Her great grandparent’s are Dora and Roy Jimenez and Anita and George Hendren, Connie and Louie Ortiz and Albert and Margaret Roybal

Simpson

Chelle Delaney and Stephen Simpson, III were married July 23, 2011 at Nativity Catholic Church in Charleston, S.C. The wedding was followed by a reception and a sunset cruise on the Charleston Harbor.

Delaney is a former Tucumcari resident and served as associate publisher of the Quay County Sun from 2006-2009. Simpson is president of Southwest Sound and Electronics Inc. in San Antonio. The couple will reside in San Antonio.

Jocelyn Garcia of Tucumcari will celebrate her second birthday on Monday with family and friends. Her parents are David and Veronica Garcia of Tucumcari. She has a big brother, Jeffrey Gonzales. Grandparents are Joe and Erlinda Montano and Chapo and Carmen all of Tucumcari.

It's a snap

Esteban Martinez III, 17, placed first and Joseph Martinez, 9, placed third at the Southwest Grapplefest Combat Sports Expo. The two brothers grappled in Rio Rancho on July 30.

Esteban will be a senior at Tucumcari High School and Martinez is going to be in the fourth grade. The two brothers are active in grappling, football, baseball, and wrestling. They represent Cullum ground fighting in Tucumcari and are coached by John, Abel and Jeremiah Cullum.
