Friday night’s shrimp boil, dance and silent auction event hosted by the Tucumcari Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club was a success, according to rotary member Jim Lafferty.
“The teamwork between the chamber and the rotary really payed off for both organizations, I think,” Lafferty said.
Lafferty reported about 405 tickets sold at the event, nearing $8,100 in ticket sales.
“That’s an estimate. I just know how many we sold, but it’s pretty close,” Lafferty said.
Chamber Assistant Director Lisa Lauriault said she also considered the event to be a success overall. She said the chamber raised about $2,500 with the silent auction, which featured 25 items.
“I hope the rotary club will want to do it with us again next year,” Lauriault said.
