The June 1 Primary Election results were confirmed Friday by the Quay County Commissioners.

“We certify the following candidates from Quay County for nomination in the November election,” said Commission Chair Franklin McCasland.

The precinct voting totals were reviewed and confirmed by the commissioners during a regular commission meeting.

Quay County Clerk Ellen White approached the commission to disqualify three provisional ballots due to ineligibility and approve and confirm one provisional ballot.

The provisional ballot was accepted and was added to the Democratic voting totals.

With those results confirmed Brad Bryant (R), won the  District 3 Commissioner election, against Edwin Bruhn and Bill Cone.

“I am excited and ready to serve the residents of Quay County,” Bryant said.

Bryant said his first order of business is to get up-to-speed on the issues and matters before the commission.

“I plan to attend as many meetings as I can,” Bryant said. “I want to make it a smooth transition.”

Bryant said he was pleased with the voter turnout and would like to see a continued interest from residents in local politics.

“It was nice to see so many people get out and vote,” Bryant said.

For the June 1 Primary 706 Republicans and 762 Democrats casted their votes.

Bryant and incumbent Sue Smith Moore (Probate Judge)(D), Joe Schallert (Sheriff)(D), David Joel Ganett (Magistrate Judge)(D) and  Jaine L. Murray (Assessor)(D) will appear on the November Ballot and run unopposed.
