The fishing report from New Mexico Wildlife Department is generated by officers and anglers.

Area lake reports:

Conchas Lake: Fishing for walleye was slow-to-fair using spoons, jigs and crank baits. The best action was reported by anglers fishing the north side of the lake. Fishing for white bass was slow-to-fair using spoons and jigs. Fishing for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass was slow with a few taken on crank baits, jigs and spinner baits. We had no reports on other species.

Ute Lake: Fishing was fair using spoons and jigs for white bass and walleye. Most of the walleye caught were at 35-to-40 feet but a few along with some largemouth bass were caught on crank baits in less than 15 feet of water. Fishing was fair-to-good using live bait and stink bait for catfish.

Bosque Redondo: Fishing was slow for all species.

Clayton Lake: Fishing was slow for all species with very light fishing pressure. The lake closes for the season on Saturday.

Oasis Park Pond: Fishing was slow for all species.

Santa Rosa Lake: Overall fishing was slow but there were a few walleye and smallmouth bass caught by anglers using black and red chigger craws in 12-to-16 feet of water.

Sumner Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.
