Mesalands offering free entrepreneurship camp

Mesalands Community College will offer a free Kids to a Higher Power: Youth Entrepreneurship Camp next week, according to a college news release.

Funds are provided by a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant (HUD). The camp will focus on building leadership skills, and the importance of giving back to the community.

Classes are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. They’re open to students ages 15 -18. Students are not required to attend all classes. Lunch will be provided.

USDA grant application deadline approaching

Time is running out for farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses to seek funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to finance renewable energy or energy efficiency projects, according to a USDA news release.

The application deadline is July 31.
