Twenty-seven Quay County 4-Hers ventured to Capitan New Mexico where they learned to be “Wild About 4-H” during the 2009 District 4-H Contests.

These youth are 9 to 13 years old and represented Quay County well bringing home a lot of ribbons.
Here are the results:

Randall Rush was fifth high individual in the Junior Air Rifle Contest

The second place Novice Bare Bow Archery Team was Trestin Peterson, Macey Moon, Shaylee Moon and Sam Robinson. The third place Novice Bare Bow Archery Team was Shaylee Moon, Reagan Runyan and Peyton Ray.

Novice Bare Bow High Point Individuals were: first Trestin Peterson, third Reagan Runyan, and fourth Sam Robinson.
 Trenton Lee was second high individual in the Novice Sights and Release Archery contest.

Novice Reagan Runyan placed first with her Sewing 1 tote bag and Kevyn Thompson placed fourth with her Sewing 2 apron in the Clothing Revue.

The second place Novice Consumer Decision Making Contest team was Kaitlyn Dougherty, Peyton Ray, and Reagan Runyan. The first high individual was Peyton Ray and second high individual was Kaitlyn Dougherty.

Randall Rush was third high individual in the Junior Crops Judging Contest Randall Rush was first high individual in the Junior Entomology Contest.

The first Place Novice Home Economics Bowl team was Wyatt Bishop, Ashlee Bradley, Taylor Hayes, and Reagan Runyan.

The third place Novice Home Economics Bowl team was Julee Sanchez, Sadie Rush, Trestin Peterson, and Shaylee Moon.

The first place Novice Home Economics Skill-a-thon team was Ashlee Bradley, Taylor Hayes, Trestin Peterson, and Reagan Runyan. Second High Individual was Ashlee Bradley and Reagan Runyan was third High Individual.

The fourth place Junior Home Economics Skill-a-thon team was Peyton Ray, Rebecca Rush, and Wyatt Bishop.

The fourth place Novice Horse Bowl team was Avery Lee, Trace Norton, Peyton Ray, and Treyson Runyan.

The third place Junior Horticulture team was Kyle Dougherty, Macey Moon, and Shaylee Moon.

The third place Novice Horticulture team was Ashlee Bradley, Taylor
Hayes, Trestin Peterson, and Reagan Runyan. The fifth high individual was Taylor Hayes.

The first place Novice Livestock Judging team was Sam Robinson, Rebecca
Rush, Bailey Smith and Kevyn Thompson.

The third place Novice Livestock Judging Team was Riley Young, Aleahna Branch, Jordyn Stowe, and Kyeli Stowe.

The first place Novice Livestock Skill-a-thon Team was Ashlee Bradley, Bailey Smith, Kevyn Thompson, and Riley Young. High point novice individual was Riley Young, fourth high was Kevyn Thompson, and fifth high was Bailey Smith.

The fifth place Junior Livestock Skill-a-thon Team was Aleahna Branch,  Trace Norton, Randall Rush, and Sadie Rush. Randall Rush was fourth high individual.

Sam Robinson placed third in Novice Poetry.

Wyatt Bishop placed third in Novice General Presentations.

Trace Norton placed first in Novice Livestock Presentations.

Jordyn and Kyeli Stowe placed second as a team in Novice Public Speaking.

The fourth place team for Junior Rifle was Kaitlyn Dougherty, Kyle
Dougherty, Trace Norton, and Randall Rush. Randall Rush was fourth high individual.

The second place Novice Rifle team was Wyatt Bishop, Ashlee Bradley, Jordyn Stowe, and Kyeli Stowe.

The fifth place Wildlife team was Wyatt Bishop, Trenton Lee, Trestin Peterson, and Ivan Rush. Trenton Lee was third high individual.
