The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department.
Tuesday
At 1:22 a.m., a male subject came to the Tucumcari Police Department to turn himself in. An officer advised the subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant and transported to the Quay County Detention Center.
At 6:08 a.m., a male reported a vehicle at a gas station on south First Street backed into a gas pump.
At 6:14 a.m., a male called the Quay County Sheriff's Office to report he had rolled his vehicle on old Route 66.
At 8:59 a.m., a female on east Main Street reported one of her employees could not get out of her vehicle in back of the business because of a large rattlesnake in the parking area there. An officer advised it was a 6-foot-long red racer snake and everything was OK.
At 12:02 p.m., a male reported three male subjects in an older grey car had just left an apartment on south Seventh Street and one passenger in the front seat had an open container.
At 12:28 p.m., a female on south Third Street reported a possible incident of domestic violence in the alley between Third and Fourth streets.
Wednesday
At 10:50 a.m., the Animal Control officer reported he had picked up a 3-foot-long dead snake at Grove Avenue and Main Street.
At 11:13 a.m., a Ute Lake State Park official received a report that subjects were walking around nude. An officer on the water and another on land advised they had not seen any nude subjects.
At 11:32, a female reported a breaking and entering on west Main Street.
At 3:31 p.m., a male on Main Street in San Jon reported the theft of a Remington 30-06 rifle with a light colored stock to the Quay County Sheriff's Office.
At 3:52 p.m., an anonymous caller reported an accident with no injuries on east Tucumcari Boulevard.
Thursday
At 10:34 a.m., an officer advised he saw a dog running loose on east High Street. The owner was able to get the dog put up and was given a verbal warning.
At 7:46 p.m., a female on east Rankin Avenue reported her daughter's iPod was stolen at the recreation center.
At 8:01 p.m., a male reported a large brown aggressive pit bull was on the loose on south Fifth Street. An officer requested the Animal Control officer to the location and advised the owner had been located.
At 8:22 p.m., a male on north First Street reported he could not sleep because his neighbor's dog was whining and might be tangled in his chain. An officer advised the dog was not tangled up and had shelter; the owner could not be located but advised officers would follow up and try to locate owners.
At 6:27 p.m., a male on Airport Road reported to Quay County Sheriff's Office someone shot out two big windows on a cotton picker and vandalized it with spray paint.
