Ready to wed...
Robert and Molly Evetts, of Tucumcari, announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie Evetts, to Randy Watts of Sacramento, Calif. Julie is the granddaughter of the late Mary Margaret and Steiner Mason and the late Hansel and Vera Evetts. Randy is the son of Randy R. Watts of Chicago, Ill. and the late Gloria M. Watts. He is the grandson of Soledad Zamarripa of Modesto, Calif. Julie is a graduate of Tucumcari High School. She has a bachelors degree from New Mexico State University in social work and a masters degree in social work from the University of Illinois. She currently works for the State of California as an adoption specialist. Randy graduated from Hoffman Estates High School in Hoffman Estates, Ill. He earned his bachelors degree in economics and masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois. He is the co-founder of Watts Capital Management. An August wedding is planned in South Lake Tahoe, Calif.

One year down...
Sadie Ann Collins celebrated her first birthday on March 21 at the Del Norte Center with family and friends. Sadie, whose birth date is March 19,  is the daughter of Trisha Ysco and  Jared Collins, who are from Tucumcari. Her grandparents are Gina Cain of Houston, Tex., and Jolanda Jesse, Richard Ysco, Koy Collins and Chester and Tammy Davis, all of Tucumcari.  Sadie is the great-grandaughter of Guadalupe Sandoval, Clarice Collins and Vic and Andy Baum, all of Tucumcari.

Brand new baby...
Christian and Krista Mericle of Tucumcari, are the parents of a 6 pound, 9.8 ounce girl, Maleah Mattie, who was born on Dec. 23, 2008, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.  Maleah Mattie has one brother, the late Matthew Robert Mericle. Her grandparents are Curtis and Dena Mericle of Tucumcari and Willis and Sherry Boyd of Spearman, Texas, and her great-grandparents are Luella Mericle of Albia, Iowa,  Jerry and Glynda Yerby of Dumas, Texas, Bobby and Sue McBeth of Plainview, Tecas, and the late Robert V. Stuchel, Donna Stuchel and Carl Mericle. Maleah Mattie's great-great-grandmother is Willie Lee McBeth of Plainview.

Princess at four...
Kayla Dawn Thielbar welcomed in her fourth year with a Princess party. And that's "because she wants to be a princess when she grows up," said her mom. Kayla Dawn is the daughter of Jamie and Robert Thielbar. She celebrated with her friends and family, including her big sister, Kara.
