New Mexico Department of Game and Fish and the Tucumcari Elks Lodge will be conducting a kids fishing clinic on April 25, according to a press release.


Kids from Tucumcari and neighboring communities are also invited to have a day of fishing instruction and win some fun prizes, the release said.
The clinic will start at 9:30 a.m. and runs until 1:30 p.m. It is open to kids between the ages of 6 and 11 years old. 


A free lunch also is provided to participants and the first 120 kids to arrive will get a free rod and reel.


Activities  include:
l Fishing for catfish from a swimming pool. 
l Hands-on activities learning about fish, aquatic bugs, and casting. 
l Fun boating and lake safety activities.
