Elijah X. Dominguez of Tucumcari celebrated his eighth birthday on Friday at his NaNa and Grandpa's house. Elijah's party was hosted by his parents, April Garcia and Hector Dominguez, his sister Mya Garcia and family.
U.S. Marine Pvt. Joseph Marroquin, Jr., 19, graduated March 6 from Marine Corps boot camp in San Diego. His next assignment will be Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton in San Diego and he expects to be going to engineering school in Missouri. Marroquin is a 2007 graduate of Tucumcari High School. Marroquin is the son of Joseph and Marcella Marroquin, Sr. of Tucumcari. His Tucumcari family also includes his brothers. Robert, Willie and Michael, his sisters, Kim and Jolene, and a neice, Julie, all of Tucumcari. His grandfather is Felix Archuleta of Buyeros.
U.S. Marine PFC Miguel Holguin, 20, also graduated March 6 from from Marine Corps boot camp in San Diego. Holguin's next assignment also will be Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton in San Diego and will be attending culinary school in Fort Lee, Va. Holguin is the son of Natalia and Jose Holguin of Tucumcari, and his brother is Jose J.. Holguin of California, and his sister is Cecila Holguin of Tucumcari. His grandparents are Adela and Miguel Holguin of Durango, Mexico. PFC Holguin is a 2006 graduate of Tucumcari High School.
U.S. Marine Cpl. Jose Holguin, 20, also graduated from the Marine Corps boot camp, but in 2006. He is the twin brother of Miguel Holguin and has been stationed in Okinawa, Japan for the past two years. His new assignment later this month will be at Camp Pendleton.
