The giving nature of the staff at Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital, Comcast and K-Bobs provided a complete holiday meal and toys for 14 Tucumcari families.

The staff prepared 14 boxes filled with everything one might need for a complete holiday meal, including the turkey, mashed potatoes and even pumpkin pie mix.

"These boxes are being given to families that need a hand up this holiday season," said Marsha Byrd, manager of medical records.
Byrd said the families are pre-selected and nominated by different physicians and offices in Quay County.

"It's been a rough year for everybody," said Felmone Chavez, Trigg staff member. "I think it is great to help people out, especially kids. Every kid should have a Merry Christmas."

The group of staff members lined the hall outside of the dinning room and filled the boxes in an assembly line.

"It has been a tremendous year of giving, considering the state of the economy and all," Byrd said.

The children of the selected families will receive a toy  collected by the staff of  Comacast.

"This is an annual event and the customers play a big part in it," said Spencer DeBord Comcast manager. "We have collected 47 toys this year. That is 25 more than we had last year."

Byrd said that this event has grown more popular with the staff every year and continues to be a success because of everyone's generosity.
