Last performances
of Christmas cantata this Friday, Sunday
The cantata "A Christmas Offering" will be presented by a choir composed of singers from Center Street United Methodist Church, the San Jon Methodist Church and the San Jon Baptist Church at two different performances:
l At 7 p.m. on Friday they will perform at the Center Street Methodist Church.
The presentations, arranged by Marty Parks and directed by Harold Sloan, is free of charge .
l At 10:30 a.m. on Sunday during the morning church services the Center Street United Methodist Church Chancel Choir will also perform the cantata.
Trip-hop artist
Chole Day to perform
at Lizard Lounge
Trip-hop / electronica artist Chloe Day will perform two shows at the Pow Wow Restaurant and Lizard Lounge in Tucumcari at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The shows come as part of the venue's annual Christmas party and promises to be an eclectic multimedia event, including some stripped-down acoustic material as well as pop and electronic music featuring videos in the background, according to Day’s publicist in a press release.
Local DJ Beano Montano will follow, spinning a wide array of picks from country to hip-hop, the release said.
Day will be stopping in Tucumcari on the first leg of a Southwest U.S. tour (Tucumcari is between gigs in Kansas City and Flagstaff, Ariz.) in support of her latest EP Sugar, recently released on iTunes, Rhapsody, Emusic and various other online distributors through the Hollywood Recording Studio label.
