The Mesalands Community College Board of Trustees voted to hold its elections for trustees on March 3 at its regular meeting Tueday night.
On the five-person board three trustees terms are expiring. They are:
• Ted Peabody in District 3
• James Streetman in District 1
• Liz Estrada in Distict 5
Except for a trustee who has been appointed to fill out a term, trustees serve for six-year terms.
In other business before the board:
l An emerency safety management plan was approved for the MCC’s wind turbine.
The wind turbine is currently undergoing tests conducted by GE, the turbine’s maker, said MCC Director of Technology Jim Morgan.
Tests involve computer operation from an on-site building.
GE is expected to conlude its tests and commission the wind turbine in the near future, Morgan said.
l The new minimum hourly wage was approved to begin on Jan. 5. The state minimum wage will be $7.50 per hour effective Jan. 1.
