The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department.
Tuesday
l At 9:07 a.m., a juvenile subject came to the Tucumcari Police Department to speak with an officer. The officer advised that the he had spoken with the subject and that he arrested the subject on a warrant. The Juvenile Probation officer recommended that the subject be released to his parent.
l At 9:19 a.m., a female reported that there was a vehicle which had been on south 11th Street for more than a week and its back windows had been broken out and that one of vehicle's had a flat. An officer advised that it was up the institution to have the vehicle towed.
l At 7:50 p.m., a female reported that she was driving on Hines Avenue when her vehicle ran over some rocks and the tire blew out. The caller said the city should replace her tire. The officer advised the caller had hit a pothole with loose asphalt and had pinched her tire in the hole causing it to blow out and there was minor damage to her rim.
l At 8:19 p.m., a female driver requested assistance because she was almost out of gas and gotten off of Interstate 40 and she did not know where she was. The State Police advised they were lending assistance and that the caller was located.
Wednesday
l At 10:40 a.m., an anonymous caller reported that two male subjects were trying to get others to buy them alcohol at a business on east Route 66 Boulevard. The caller said the subjects had been banned from entering the business. An officer advised that the subjects had left the area.
l At 3:52 p.m., a male reported that he thought there was someone listening in on his phone line on south Jackson Street. An officer advised that the caller or the Police Department contact Qwest, and suggested someone could be tampering with the line.
l At 4:19 p.m. a female reported that her uncle was saying that he was going to kill her. An officer advised that there was nothing physical, but a verbal dispute over some property and all was okay.
l At 4:40 p.m., an anonymous caller reported a man who might need assistance slumped over in his wheelchair at a business on west Route 66 Boulevard. A welfare check was requested.
l At 11:30 a.m., a male reported to the Quay County Sheriff’s Office that someone had broken into his home in Nara Visa while he was out of town.
Thursday
l At 12:08 p.m., a female requested an officer to conduct a walk-through in the liquor area of a business on south First Street. Some juveniles would not stay out of the liquor area when asked. An officer advised that the subjects had left.
l At 1:59 p.m., an anonymous caller reported an accident on Interstate-40 at mile marker 339 and that there was a power pole across a lane of traffic.
l At 5:27 p.m., a male requested an ambulance to a business on Mountain Road for a customer who was having severe abdominal pains.
