Local author Debra Whittington has released her latest book “Let’s Go To The Mountain.”
The 476-page book features 366 daily devotionals.
“Let’s Go To The Mountain” is a daily devotional for those who are looking up to the Lord for help in his or her every day life.
It features her life and those around her as God uses the usual and the unusual to teach life’s lessons, according to a press release stated.
Her daily devotionals cover a range from anecdotes about animals and nature to a answering God’s call when you feel it’s impossible and facing disappointments such death of loved ones, or disabling illness, the release said.
Whittington claims that if God can use her despite her lack of formal education in journalism, then He can use anyone, she said in a press release.
The book chronicles 15 years of the author’s life based on her “Notes from the Church Lady” column published in the Quay County Sun and they updated with an added thought for the day.
Whittington will be at the Quay County Sun office between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday at 902 S. First St., to sign her book, “Let’s Go To The Mountain.”
Her first book, “In the Shadow of the Mountain,” a history of Tucumcari will also be available
Whittington is at work on her third book that chronicles her family’s experience of operating a “Mom and Pop” motel on Route 66 over a period of almost 50 years.
