The Mesalands Rodeo Team finished second in the men’s team standings at the Dine College Rodeo Oct. 11-12, in Tsaile, Ariz.

The Men’s team scored 500 team points to finish second at the rodeo and to hold at second in the year- end standings.

The rodeo team was led by bull rider Donnie Frazee.  Frazee won the two- head average with a score of 149 points on two bulls.  Frazee won the first round with a score of 79 points and placed third in the second round with a score of 70 points.

After three rodeos Frazee leads the Grand Canyon Regional standings in the bull riding and is also the number one ranked bull rider in the national standings.

“Donnie has been very impressive this year,” said Rodeo Coach C.J. Aragon.  “He has won two rodeos and placed third at the other one.”

Another Mesalands Community College rough stock rider has been on a roll.

At the Cochise College Rodeo Brandon Jones won the saddle bronc riding title.  Jones finished second in the saddle bronc riding with a two head total of 137.  “Brandon’s first horse was a little weak and he scored 61.  On his second horse he won the round with a score of 76 points.  Brandon has worked real hard last year and this year to get where he is,” Aragon said.
