K-Bob’s restaurant at Interstate 40 and south First Street is scheduled to reopen in late October, according to an owner’s representative.
The restaurant, which is owned by Star Buffet, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., was closed in early November last year, said Jason Vinson, restaurant start-up coordinator. Vinson did not disclose why the restaurant had closed.
Vinson said he is hoping to rehire members of the previous staff. Between 25 and 30 part-time and full-time employees will be hired, Vinson said.
The restaurant will maintain the K-Bob’s menu and decor, but the interior and kitchen areas are being updated, Vinson said.
Painters were working on the building’s exterior and workers were inside making repairs on Friday.
Future plans call for beer and wine to be served, Vinson said.
The restaurant seats about 110 and will be serving meals from from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, Vinson said.
