The death of a 2-year-old Tucumcari boy is being investigated by the state's Criminal Investigation Bureau.

The boy was transported Friday afternoon to Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital, according to police documents.

Because there is an ongoing investigation police would not disclose any details in the case.

Criminal investigators are reviewing the incident with the local state attorney's office, said New Mexico State Police spokesman Lt. Eric Garcia.
