City football coming
The Quay County Junior League Football is accepting registrations for the upcoming season. Registration for grades 4-6 will be held weeknights from 4-9 p.m. at the Tucumcari Recreation Center. The Tucumcari Youth Soccer League is now accepting registrations for the upcoming season. Registration for boys and girls ages 4-12 will be held weeknights from 4-9 p.m. at the Tucumcari Recreation Center. The cost to participate is $25 and registration is open until Sept. 5. Ortega elected Municipal League VP
Portales Mayor Orlando Ortega Jr. was elected vice president of the New Mexico Municipal League on Thursday during the organization’s annual conference in Clovis, according to a NMML press release. He previously served as treasurer.
Las Cruces Councilor Dolores Conner was elected president and Barb Wiard, mayor pro tem of Village of Taos Ski Valley is president-elect.
Officers assume their new duties on Oct. 1.
