Engaged...
Brian and Mary Fortner of Fort Sumner announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Danna Dene Fortner of San Angelo, Texas to Christopher Glenn Hoppe, of Winters, Texas, the son of Glen and Melinda Hoppe of Winters. The couple will exchange vows June 21 at Bellmore Baptist Church in San Angelo. The reception will be at Fort Concho. The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of Tucumcari High School and is employed at the San Angelo Independent School District. The groom is a 2002 graduate of Winters High School. He is co-owner of PowerFlex Services Inc. Danna and Chris graduated in 2007 from Angelo State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in kinesiology.

Five in the swim...
Karlee Cantrell celebrated her 5th birthday on Wednesday at the city pool. Karlee enjoyed  a princess party with her family and friends. She was born in Amarillo, Texas, and is the daughter of Will and Holli Cantrell of Tucumcari. Her grandparents are Bill and Beverly Cantrell of Clayton and Roy and Cheryl Perschbacher of Hayden.

Payson's on first...
Payson Ray Nials will celebrate his first birthday in Tucumcari with family and friends. Payson's birthday was Friday. Payson is the son of  Dustin and Relissa  and brother to Rilee Jo Nials. His grandparents are Ray and JoAnn Nials and Robin and Aleta Smith. His great-grandmother is Leona Smith. Payson likes to climb things that he's not suppose to, ride horses, "moo" at the cows and steal his sister's toys.

Birthday celebration...
Eva Romero of Englewood, Colo, will be 103 years old on June 15. She will celebrate with all her friends and family. Her daughter, Mary Rivera, and family are from Tucumcari. She also has children in Oregon, California, Texas and Colorado.
She born  was born in Monte Vista, Colo., and  has nine children, 52 grandchildren, 150 great grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Romero lives with her daughter and son in law, Emma and Joe Vigil in Englewood.
