Tucumcari seniors, Tyler Koch and Taylor Koch, took first and second, respectively in the boys discus throw Class AA on Friday at the 2008 NMAA State Track & Field Championships held at the UNM Track & Field Complex.

Vows exchanged...
After four years together, Melissa Bellport and Armando Acosta were married on April 18 at the First Christian Church in Tucumcari. Pastor James Witcher officiated at the wedding. The couple's two four-year-old daughters, Essence Somara and Delilah Brooke, were the flower girls, and their 15-month-old son, Eli Kaden, acted  as best man. The bride was given in matrimony by her mother, Susan Bellport, and  Julie Lisabelle was a witness. The couple will have a belated reception at their new home later this summer.

Sixteen and counting...
Zachary Cruze celebrated his 16th birthday Thursday with a cookout at home. Joining him were his parents, John and Joy Cruze, his sister Niki Acosta and her family, his grandmother, Susie Moore, and great-grandmother, Opal Cruze, all of Tucumcari. Zachary's celebration will continue through this weekend with a trip to Amarillo, Texas.
