Cinco De Mayo fest set for Monday at Mesalands
Mesalands Community College will present its annual Cinco De Mayo celebration from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in the parking lot at the college, 915 W. Hines St.  There will be food, games and activities for all ages, including piñatas for kids, dance contests, live music by Amistad, and mariachi dancers. No entry fee.

Register by Tuesday
to vote in June primary
The last day to register to vote will be Tuesday to be eligible to vote in the June 3 Primary Election, according to the county clerk.
Anyone who will be 18 years of age prior to June 3, 2008 is eligible to register at this time.
Absentee/Early Voting will begin Tuesday in the Quay County Clerk’s Office located in the Courthouse at 300 South Third Street in Tucumcari.
The Clerk’s Office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., including the lunch hour, Monday through Friday  to serve the residents of Quay County.
The last day to vote Absentee/Early is May 31, 2008 when the Clerk’s Office will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Voters who wish to vote Absentee/Early who cannot come to the Courthouse to vote in person should call the Clerk’s Office at 461- 0510 and request an absentee application in order to receive a ballot by mail.
