Youth luncheon for tobacco prevention to be held
The Youth in Action Coalition is offering a free training session, which also includes lunch, on tobacco for Quay County youth from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday. The Youth in Action Coalition is sponsored by the The Quay County ASAP Coalition and the training will consist of presentations on spit tobacco and tobacco media literacy.
All youth are invited to attend, but you must RSVP so a meal count can be established. The training will be at the ASAP office, 109 E. Main St. For more information and to RSVP, call 461-4922.
Free screening available for newborns to 5 years old
The Tucumcari Public Schools Special Programs Department is holding a CHILD FIND on April 17. This event will be at the Tucumcari Elementary School Gym from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.
Parents who have children between the ages from birth to five years are encouraged to attend. Developmental screenings will be provided at no cost.

Saturation patrols in effect for April
The Tucumcari Police Department will be conducting occupant safety patrols and DWI saturation patrols during April. Officers will be enforcing seat belt, DWI and other traffic laws.
Community budget meeting set for San Jon School
The Community School Budget Input Meeting for San Jon School will be at 6 p.m. on April 21 at the ITV Room, San Jon School.
No commodity deliveries in April
All the food banks/pantries in Eastern New Mexico will not have any commodities in April, according to an announcement from the office of Quay County.
