Are you ready for some ... softball?
The Tucumcari Recreation Center is collecting names of school-age girls and boys who are interested in playing slow-pitch softball.
Those interested can call the rec center at 461-1647.
The number of teams and age parameters will be determined by interest, officials said.

The fishing clinic starts at 9:30 am and runs until 1:30 p.m. It is open to kids 6 through 11 years old.  A free lunch is provided to participants and the first 100 kids to arrive will get a free rod and reel.
The day's activities include: Fishing for catfish from a swimming pool, hands-on activities learning about fish, aquatic bugs, and casting, and boating and lake safety activities, said Kevin W. Holladay, Project WILD Coordinator/Aquatic Resource Education, in the release.
