The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:

Tuesday
l At 10:19 a.m., a female reported a gas skip from a fuel station on South First Street. An officer advised that all was OK and that the driver had returned and paid for the gas.
l At 2:10 p.m., several callers reported an electric fire on East Main Street. A fire official advised that it was fire on a power pole and that the fire was contained. Electrical equipment had sparked a small fire.
l At 3:14 p.m., a male reported a suspicious subject on South Sixth Street. An officer was told that the male subject was walking from door to door. The officer advised that all was OK. The male subject was a salesman.
l At 3:20 p.m., a male went into the police department on East Center Street to report identity theft. An officer was told that the male subject received a letter from the IRS stating someone had used his social security number. 
l At 4:21 p.m., a male reported a burglary at a business on East Route 66. An officer was told that a vehicle was broken into and a stereo and amplifier were taken.
l At 6:09 p.m., a female reported an assault on East Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer was told that a male subject was waving a screwdriver at a female subject. The officer advised both subjects to stay away from each other for the night.
l At 6:26 p.m., a anonymous caller reported a disturbance on South Fourth Street. An officer was told that juveniles were throwing fireworks at passing vehicles. The officer made contact with the juveniles and advised that they were going to stop throwing the fireworks.

Wednesday
l At 6 p.m., a female reported a fight at a retail store on West Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer was told that two subjects had been fighting in the parking lot and then moved across the street and continued to fight. The officer checked the area and advised that the subjects had left the area.
l At 7:28 p.m. a anonymous caller reported a possible domestic dispute at a residence on South Tenth Street. An officer advised that all was OK and there was no sign on a domestic dispute.
l At 7:28 p.m., a female reported a distressed female subject walking down South Monroe Street. An officer made contact with the female subject and advised that all was OK and that the female subject was walking home.
l At 8:16 p.m., a female reported a possible fire on West Heman Street. A fire official advised that all was OK it was a control burn and would be extinguished.

Thursday
l At 6:13 a.m., an alarm was reported at the high school on South Seventh Street. An officer advised that all was OK and that the alarm had been set off by the staff on accident.
l At 12:04 p.m., a anonymous caller reported a burglary in progress at a residence on South Rock Island Street. An officer advised that there were three subjects who had previously rented the residence and were trying to retrieve their belongings.

• At 11:17 p.m., a male reported a verbal dispute at a fuel station on South Rock Island Street. An officer was told that two male subjects were arguing outside of the building. The officer advised that all was OK. The parties had separated and left the area.
