Quay County�s municipalities and the county government have put together a whopping $25,939,700 wish list of projects to present to legislators in Santa Fe. Legislators kicked off their 30-day session Tuesday in Santa Fe. Here in Quay County, locals hope, in a few weeks, to advance the case for their projects and make a good impression. The Greater Tucumcari Economic Development Corp. has a new display which received a favorable review from members at Monday�s night meeting. The display will debut in Santa Fe beginning with New Mexico�s Association of Commerce and Industry event on Jan. 21 and �Quay Day,� on Jan. 23, said Pat Vanderpool, executive director of the economic development agency. Local groups will host Quay Day, a luncheon for legislators, cabinet secretaries and others. The lion�s share of the projects deal with infrastructure and include road repair equipment, water delivery, collection and treatment and wastewater systems. Here are the capital outlay requests: Quay County: l $450,000, updating county-owned buildings l $450,000, road equipment l $175,000, security improvements at the Quay County Detention Center Tucumcari l $4 million, water delivery system improvements l $6.5 million, wastewater collection and treatment l $1.5 million, solid waste landfill and equipment San Jon l $664,000, wastewater systems improvements l $25,700, emergency warning system l $25,000, emergency vehicle repair Logan l $4 million, wastewater system Mesalands Community College l $7.9 million, general obligation bond for North American Wind Research and Training Center NMSU Ag Center l $250,000, center pivot irrigation system and updated agricultural equipment.
